Hey Robert,
Strangely, a 10K is tough from start to finish for me. 6.1 is fine for a regular run, but at race pace, it's an internal pep talk the whole way. It's not a real short race, but not long enough to ease into a slower pace. Something about race day pushes me, so on Thanksgiving I tried my first 10K - finished in 51:40 and surprised myself (and beat my 13 year old son... I'll take my victory because it won't be long until he leaves me in the dust ;)
Keep running!
