Training Day Twenty – 5 Mile Jell-O Run

jelloRunning on an off day, I have decided, is like running in Jell-O. Although I have never actually run in Jell-O, I bet it would be tough. Perhaps its more like Jell-O legs than running in Jell-O?

So, today was a minor continuation of Tuesday’s “Bad Running Day”. However, I did not have to stop running due to side pain or anything. After two miles I started to experience a slight burn in my muscles as if I had been running all day.

I did manage to burn 788 calories which is good but it felt like I burned all 788 in the first mile and ran on fumes the remaining three miles. I wonder how much Jell-O equals 788 calories?

Anyway, five miles in 48 minutes. Ran at 6.0 and 6.6 at varying stages depending upon how I felt. I am happy that I finished all five because I was ready to stop after two miles.
